Japanese-Style Spa Zone
The client, a member of the Russian Forbes list, built his residence some time ago, but continued to improve its appearance and interior. He has been to Japan many times, implemented some projects with Japanese architectural firms, and acquaintance with Japanese architectural tradition awakened a desire to have a stylized Japanese room in his house.
By the time we began our work the exterior walls had already been erected, the areas of a hamam, a Russian sauna and the place of the pool had already been defined. The Japanese architect suggested changing the geometry of the room, relocating the entrance, bathrooms and showers to make better and more rational use of space. In addition, he proposed a ceiling design based on a copy of Twin Dragons from the ceiling of Kennin-ji Temple in Kyoto, as it symbolizes new elements in a traditional building.
A space furnished in the traditional Japanese style conveys tranquility and serenity, with a particular color combination and material textures.
In addition, the spa area is designed as an inner courtyard to give the feeling of open space, even when a person is inside the building.
