Private Minimalist Residence at Moscow Suburbs
In this project we had to solve two complex and extremely interesting tasks. The first one was to redesign the existing house project and change the entire set of functions. The second task was to reflect Japanese architectural traditions and modern housebuilding trends in combination with fundamental elements of Islamic culture, since our client was a Muslim.
The unifying idea of the new project was the idea of water and the garden – these elements play a large role in both Islam and Japanese cultural tradition. The concept of the unchanging flow of water and eternity, the immutability of time is reflected in the rock garden and multi-level swimming pool, located in the central part of the house – in the courtyard, which, according to Islamic canons, symbolizes the “garden of Eden”.
This work clearly demonstrates our expertise in adapting different cultural ideas and concepts within the framework of the architectural project.
